Hey, a bit of advice on your sargent study.. some of the drawing is off, pay closer attention to all the shapes. Value wise I would go back and fix a few things, the white of the eye in too light, should be a lot darker, the left eye's (our right) eyebrow is too dark etc. I would go back and really analyze those light dark patterns, as understanding them is very important.

Look for the big shadow shapes first, look for important sharp edges and in which direction they smooth out

Here's a paintover, i'm not sure if i was clear, i marked some edges and drew arrows in the direction they transition. There's always a soft side on an edge and a harder side.

Hey guys !
Here are some 1-2 min sketches from artsyposes.com i did .
And the start of my second oil painting .
I'm using a limited palette with low chroma : venetian red, yellow oker, ivory black and titanium white .
The drawing of the brush is a bit off and i have set up some middle tones , need to get more contrast , especially the drapery has to be allot brighter .

nice man!! that's the way! keep up those tradittional studies!

i have a teacher that says (when talking about digital art): does a golden pencil make you write better?

so you gotta know what to do when using the softwares, and you'll learn it just the way you're doing!! keep it up!

The still lifes are looking good! Watch out for the perspective in the heads, sometimes the features aren't well aligned.
