critique and help needed

Hey guys , so I started last night to paint this guy, I was trying to go for a...middle of a deep forest type of look, but the overall mood and colors torture me. Can you please help me get to the bottom of this? right now I worked about 1:30 h on this and I am trying to achieve a painterly ,yet realistic feeling.
