Hi,
I came across conceptart.org and noticed they had a workshop service with pro critiques etc.
It is quiet affordable, I wanted to know has anyone taken any of the lessons and has it helped them?
Thanks

You'd do better with a Schoolism subscription ($144 for a year) or Chris Oatley's magic Box course ($18/month) if you're looking for basics. I have not seen anyone talk about LevelUp for years (pretty much since they stopped spamming my inbox...), and students from these two courses have been getting consistently better. A lot of people can vouch for quality of instruction there.
Current and past students of these courses have been great about offering feedback and critique and a lot of Schoolism instructors drop in to comment on subscribers' stuff for free as well :)

I can speak from experience, and I would say that LevelUp isn't doing any groundbreaking things, and you're not getting anything unique or awesome. This stuff you could definitely do on your own and see the same level of improvement.
Basically, they give you assignments you can do in your own time, and they just give you a ... Quantity of stuff to do. Draw 100 skulls from observation, and 100 from memory. Do 10 master studies in grayscale (Or was it 15? 20? I forget. Which were more like copies in my case). And then do one in colour, only make it perfect.
You get minimum critiques, and the ones you do get are mostly from the students now (It's a part of the curriculum to critique other people's work).
You choose from all of this stuff to do, and it can be confusing and leave you stranded on an island which you would have been in whether you signed up for it or not.
You get what you put in, and I suppose it may motivate you more that you're paying money to do this stuff, but in my humble opinion, you're just not getting much from the instructors.
It just seems like a huge money-suck to me, and I have read some pretty awful things about Manley, which caused me to leave CA and come here.
