InDesign Alternatives for printing booklets.
#1
Does anyone know any free (and legal!), easy to learn alternatives to InDesign?

My class needs to create a catalog booklet featuring the profile and artwork of each student, but we have no idea how to use InDesign or any other page management tool for printing. Any recommendations are welcomed!

Thanks!

Scribus is supposed to be good. I used it a few times. Not sure about how much easier to learn it is.

Inkscape is more like illustrator so the learning curve might be less, but it isn't specifically tailored towards layout. I love the program though, very good.

Another option is actually Powerpoint. It's not free but many people seem to have Office installed, and it actually has some pretty decent and simple layout features that I used to use at work, to do in-office flyers and shit. It was surprisingly useful in a pinch.

Bottom line is, everything has a learning curve, I'd say someone has to do the work and get up to speed on something!

Thanks! I guess I'll be dedicating the next few weeks to learning Scribus. T-T
