This sounds really fun! I would love to join.
I have my character thumbnails drawn out and I'm now working on the line concepts.

These are some really great drawings.
Armored bird is one of my favorites for sure!
Do you know which ones you are selecting for your scene?

Cool cool. Just come in we still have seats left. I do have some ideas what I want but the final candidates have not been chosen yet!

I think I might take a day of two of just because 20 character pieces are quite a lot. I never thought they would take that long. I was like "Hah 20 drawings that should'nt take that much time right?" WROONG.

Well I set out my challenge and I'm gonna push it through the end :(

Here is 20 out 20!!! Doggo2

Time for the real deal.

okay!
Here is my first character, I am using pencils, I need pencil practice!
I don't think I have a very clean lineart look, so let me know if it should be more clean than this
I want to do a french 1700s scene so I went with this type of clothing
[Image: IMG_20160919_230634_editS.jpg]

I think it's fine to take a day or more...Is there a particular deadline for this project?

Hey. No that's fine I don't expect people to do the tightest most well defined line art. We're all learning here. Cool to see you're pushing yourself.

There is no set deadline. It's about getting it done. You shouldn't take forever but this isn't about getting things done in a month or two. This challenge kind of caters to people who have lots to do every week anyway but still want to keep a goal in mind. If I continue these challenges then there will be some with deadlines in the future but for now... no.

Okay everyone. Sorry I'm kind of adjusting to my new life situation. Here are some thumbnails in pencil and a first sketch. I'll define the details now and do studies to reinforce the poses. Expect major fail as I go along hahaha.

oh ok then!
It's good for me, at the moment I don't think I can meet challenge deadlines :/

Here is another character.
Not too happy with this one, but it gives me a map of what to work on at least ^^u

Nice work VoodooMama. These pencil sketches are coming along well :D

Here is my progress. I refined the sketch. I'll put in some last details and then go for the finished line art.

Finally finished with the first line art. Only 2 more to go.

Stuff I learned already
-lines are hard, because you have to do everything yourself. There just aren't texture brushes for line art (not meaning like line textures or a more ink like or pencil like brush) ahaha.
-A brush stroke can cover a large space and give it deph with color. Lines are bit trickier I can't quite explain it. Not vastly different you still have overlapping shapes and perspective and stuff... just the approach feels different.

hey! really nice lines! I like the clean lines that you have created

I agree with your points, it is hard to give depth with just line. I guess a way to do it would be by making certain lines stronger, or wider, a variation just to draw the eye to the center of interest.

You thought this thread was dead but I'm telling you it's just like me... running on life support hahaha.

Anyway. Here is the second full scene.

One remaining :/
