Pen pressure wasn't the issue, but wanted it to stop what ever the hell it was doing. Didn't have any issues since shifting to CSP. However, thanks for the tip about the updated drivers. I'll check that if anything goes awry and/or I try out Krita, again. ![]() Tried to paint a version of a previous Barda sketch, using methods I'd been taught since the course. Layers, multiply+screen, add glow, testing values with Black 'colour' blending mode, etc. The only thing I'd try to add is to see whether I can get a screen tone that looks like chainmail. (If I knew how to do the thing where you post a previous image- I totes would. Seriously, tho, how do you do that?) If I was to draw this again, I'd defoo make her brawnier. ![]() Tried another go at my 'CyberPunk' girl after figuring out layers. Created lineart on a vector layer and did the whole 'make everything grey' to create clipping masks. But, I came to a problem when did the whole body as only 'grey flats' and wanted to render out the skin without touching the shirt, say. So, I tried to do it with a 'layer mask' and it really started to lag. I ultimately want it to have her backlit with a gradient like a spotlight landing on her from the corner. However, I'm not too sure how to do that yet. Imma focus on rendering the rest of her out first, [bit difficult to be completely satisfied, because I've lost the original clothing refs] before I try to tackle any kind of 'rim light'. I want the finished background to be Black, so the lighting will really pop. Any advice appreciated! ![]() RE: Dominicque's Sketchbook - Dominicque - 08-30-2025 (06-29-2025, 10:17 PM)cgmythology Wrote: Very solid updates as always! Only critique I can think of is that your midtones might be slightly too light, but that could just be a personal preference than a critique. Keep up the great work! Long time no update! I created a draft ages ago, but things got in the way. [Even more now as I'm trying to pitch a TV show. Not NDAed, but not sure if I can share concept art, but I'll soo pumped! ![]() I've moved on to the 'Fantasy and Science-Fiction Digital Illustration' course by Nimrod Villar. Whipped out my reference books for this! He started sketchy, the whole point was idea ideation that you could use as a base character sheets for the image, but I got so frustrated I returned to trad, just to remind myself I could draw. ![]() Haha, here they are. Let's see if I finish them ![]() ![]() ![]() When back to the 'Lying in roses with oil spill girl'. It originally gonna be a pencil version, then colour, but though 'Fuck it!' and just used coloured pencils and light on the actual graphite. ![]() I don't have a lot of juvenilia to work with. Too self-conscious, but I did manage to find a couple of things. Great for a 'Draw in Again' meme! 13 and reverse the numbers. ![]() ![]() ![]() Did this drawing of Clara Hill and I wasn't too worried about having 100% accurate likeness. I was just doing what I liked and allowing my natural inclination to flow and I had sure a fantastic time! Truely. ![]() <3 turning eyelashes into triangles. ![]() RE: Dominicque's Sketchbook - Crowbit - 09-03-2025 Sorry I've been away but the art is looking good! Keep it up RE: Dominicque's Sketchbook - cgmythology - 09-06-2025 These are fantastic! The last two especially are very well drawn with excellent value work. Nice to see you're taking courses as well, should help improve your technique even further and it's already at a great level as is. Keep up the great work! |
