Crimson CHOW #63 Merling Undersea Kingdom

CBinnsIllustration Phenomenal works and they both look great; I really can't say if one or the other is better as I like both a lot. It's gonna def be your call and that is awesome that you were able to get into some deep work like this and just zone man, sometimes the sacrifice of sleep is worth it and I feel in this case it is cause the current results look astounding.

Thanks for your input on my concepts. I have been struggling along trying to produce but its been a bit challenging in the times. I'm trying to make ample time to get in and do something nice hopefully as well. I see what you say about #2 and #4 and they do have a nice sweeping motion. #5 could definitely work out well and I do like the Poseidon esque demeanor of that one. I have another idea I have not yet explored, I just thought of it while cooking dinner the other night, so I'm excited to maybe introduce that concept as well.

Darktiste Well said and thank you for the input. I get your perspective about the silhouette method and go back and forth with it. Silhouette method seems to work out well for others, and some others are best to stay away. I often feel torn between working in silhouette or line, but my main way of working is line so after so many years of doing so I may be wisest just to stick with that. Yes, typically I would do a second pass over my line work and maybe even a third, or fourth depending on how much information I want and how pristine I'd like the line work to be which all depends on whether it will be present in the final version of the work or not. This time around just very loose first pass sketches to get the general idea and composition across, a great effort in simply trying to be more time efficient on the drawing end.
