I am no where an expert in skin texture but i heard that skin do absorb alot of color due to there porous nature and do have color change in certain zone where there is more blood flow or where skin closer to the bone where you can get veins to show a little more i think you could start to experiment with that an look for those subtle change in hue in your work.
You kinda lost the skull material propriety as you build the piece making the shadow to yellow inside the eye socket and in the back part of the skull and in the nostril and underneath the cheekbone.
I would remove some of the cobweb so some of the background element could breath a little more otherwise it can feel like to much of the same.
Probably also maybe add a few spider crawling all over the place maybe one dangling from a web.
Also love the idea of companion for witch could be a owl a bat a rat a snake to just name a few but it not necessary since this is already pretty busy.
