Went ahead and did a bunch of photo studies of primitive shapes to help study lighting.  Learned a lot from these.  Also did a study of the recent 'Blade Runner' film as well:

Next up I started on a new illustration.  I began the sketch quite a while ago (I believe at least a year ago) but followed up on it recently.  For the figure I had two references to help me come up with the pose which you can view here , and I looked a at a bunch of different ones to help me draw out the wolves.  Hopefully things look fairly natural, but I would love to hear any feedback on the sketch before I begin some color tests, so please let me know if something feels off or could be improved!  Below is the current sketch:




Edit:  Updated the sketch to rework the legs as they looked a bit unnatural before.
