Precisely, he didn't had any formal training, so there was no conscious constructing involved, maybe that's why he couldn't exactly teach anyone, it made drawing much more mysterious than it should be at that time.
About color blindness, it more or less put an end to things for me, but you're right, there's many artists that make a living out of grayscale art, tatoos and all, but in my particular case, having not just to make a living for myself but for others, I simply couldn't afford to take that risk. That being said, even though it's not my career, it's still something I'd like to do well.
