My main crit for environments would be that the contrast is too high. I see that quite a lot on this forum, and I think it's because people usually do not consider how bounce light affects the surroundings and focus just on the main lightsource, leaving, as a result, places the main lightsource doesn't reach too dark.

Look for example at the last one. The sky is pretty bright, even if the sun is on the left side, the sky light alone would make the backside of buildings way brighter. You should either brighten those places or darken the sky. A good method, I learned from Feng Zhu, to check the lighting/values is to look at the image with desaturation layer.
