New "Bamboo aka Intuos" or old Bamboo?
#2
I'm most comfortable with size comparable to A5. I had old Intuos and Bamboo without multi touch (personally- this feature is not usable that much anyway) and even with the difference in pressure steps in both I didn't feel it while painting. Choosing Wacom is already good itself, it's professional company with best quality products and if you consider drawing as a hobby and if it's problematic for you to pay more money I would go for a cheaper option, you can still learn with it a lot and it will serve you few years.
