Hi there! I'm not even close to professional work myself, but I thought I'd try to help anyhow. 
1. Maybe! It always helps to do studies from life of subjects that you feel you have trouble with! Or any subjects at all, really. The more you observe, draw, and paint, the better you'll become!
2. I think so. I like your website very much-- I think it's quite organized and well-presented.
3. Your work looks similar to children's book illustrations or phone game art, in my humble opinion. I could be wrong-- I'm just a layman doing guesswork.
