First Sketchbook!

This looks like it's going to be a really cool painting! I think the 3rd one is a pretty good choice, I kind of like the warm gold color of the 3rd thumbnail of the 3rd comp. I did some study of ice as well for a painting a while ago, and I kind of figured out some things about it. Wasn't that pleased with how it turned out, but it was good to try for sure.

But what is hard is that there can be so many different types of ice. Like an ice cube or clear looks completely different from an ice berg or something which is more opaque. And like glass it looks completely different depending on what it reflects around it, so it's really tricky to do like a generic 'ice texture'. Like you have the 3 studies you did above, which not to knock it, they look good. But they are all different versions of how ice could work? Might take some more study and reference to really nail down how you're going to do the iceberg/castle. Oftentimes if you can't make something happen yet, you just need more understanding of the material or subject first.

I haven't seen what you've done with the rendering since the last post, but I'd enjoy seeing an update!
