Best guide to digital painting?

i never really considered the main concepts of it to be any different than that of traditional, so your best bet would be to just look up guides on the tools you want to use. if you are using photoshop look up guides on that and learn about brushes (although alot of people just use chalk), look up masking layers (some people like these alot), look up using the radial gradient tool with the foreground as the first color and set the second one to zero opacity (this is a pretty cool tool), and also learn to use the selection tool alot (after watching about a million videos of people digital painting this appears to be a common "goto" tool

but you can also check out youtube and the ctrl paint guy on his website

if you have a few bucks to spend every month on art tutorials you can check out chris oatleys magic box class, ive been taking it and the first 6 months of it is pretty much advanced tutorials on how to use photoshop, id say its worth the 20 bucks a month but then again i sometimes spend that on frozen coffee in a day so if your on a limited budget it may be something you wait for.
