Skeffin: I would definitely audit that guy's class.
Jana: I think the lighting with those shadows from the window looks really nice, and it reads a lot better than the first thumbnail. The only thing that sticks out to me a little bit, is that it looks like the VP for the environment is placed a little higher than the one for the character. This is where it looks like the horizon line of the character is for me, because we're not seeing much of the top plane of the character's head or shoulders. So it's like the viewer is sitting across from her. I could be wrong, but it's something to consider if you're feeling stuck and want to try a big change in the background.
