Hi there!

My name is Tasha (friends call me Dem) and I'm new here.
So good, that there is such a nice place, like this forum.

Couple of days ago i was thinking again like Omg, what to do and so on-) and found this Dave's post http://daverapoza.blogspot.ru/2010/02/fr...iving.html and then the forum also.

Like many people here, i'm almost self-taught artist and hope one day to live from my art.
I'm a little bit confused, where to move next - i like to make environments, but i'm not sure that it's possible to be a concept artist on freelance, doing environment design job. Do you know people like that?

Also thinking about covers for books..

What to do next? Agencies? Publishing houses? Approve folio and sending mails to studio's art directors?

Talk to me, I'm full of doubts @_@

Hi there

There is Noah Bradley who does freelance enviros.
http://www.noahbradley.com/

There is https://www.artpact.com/ where people give reviews of companies that hire freelancers.
Here's a list of art directors http://illustrationage.com/adcontacts/

There is a difference between illustration and concept art too.
Though the line might be blurry sometimes.
You might get more time to finish an illustration for a book cover, while you get less time to do concept sketches.
Just food for thought.

You can make money doing either or both, whatever suits you.

Just to mention, I'm not working in the industry. I just aspire to do so.
