First up, this drawing I made of (oh god, it's this guy) back in june. I say (oh god, it's this guy) not because i dislike the character, but because i happen to have a special interest on this guy, STILL ONGOING???, lasting FIVE YEARS>??? i wasn't even this obsessed with my little pony when i was a toddler, what the hell!! anyway...yeah, my first drawing of ''spamton'' was from all the way back in may of 2023, the biggest difference between how i drew him now vs how i drew him then (old art here for reference,) is that now i seem to really like drawing him as a barely comprehensible being. it IS fun to draw him that way, though, so i understand myself. haha i'm drawing him right now and making use of the flipaclip ''blur and smudge'' tools to make him look all melty and distorted hopefully i'll finish it and i can share it here
I also have this, concept art for two main characters for a webseries I want to make/was working on earlier this year (i didn't draw their hands because i didn't feel like it, you get the idea) The art is meant to be drawn in a very amateur way on purpose, since I think it would help with the strange/off kilter kind of feel that i'd wanna go with for the thing. I was inspired by old flash animations and the recent resurgence of them as a tool to create unnerving/horror animations (this project would not be horror though) More art from the almost finished but incomplete ''pilot'' here and here.
What it WOULD be...is basically a slice of life kind of series taking place at the end of our world, following the aftermath of a ''man made'' rapture event, where the only two human characters we see are ''dante'' and a currently unnamed character. Both characters would have different mindsets and ways of approaching their situation, with dante being an atheist, and the unnamed character being a potestant christian (the religion i was raised in before leaving.) i chose to have that as a dynamic between the two characters because i think it could be interesting given the context of the shows setting. Some other information about the characters is that dante is supposed to work as ''the weatherman,'' while the unnamed character has a pet cat named ''lucy.'' i want both of these to be important somehow but not sure how, i do find it interesting how dante mentions cats in their dialogue during the pilot though, so maybe...............

By dragging i mean not in the text box but in the designed space under the text box when you create a new reply. I could probably find you the more in depth guide on how to post image as it would seriously help you get more replied but it still pretty quiet around here lately so yeah doing anything to get any type of feed back if your posting for more than just showing pretty image and monologue.

also tbh most of the reason i'm posting here is because i like praise i'm just gonna be blunt lol (criticism is good too but i'm still trying to build up my self esteem and am pretty critical of myself already, i just don't know how to make my art look like i want it to like making the anatomy better and the poses and stuff less stiff)
Alright so this is the OC I was talking about a couple of days ago
His name is 'virdle' (I got his name from mashing the words ''virus'' and ''delete'' together and then changing some letters around lol)
He's kinda like bonzibuddy if he was someone's OC that was made by me in particular. because of what he's supposed to be, as a virtual desktop assistant thingy, that also means that he's my first and only OC that could technically be ''real'' which is really cool to me. Also, this art is from 2024 so it's kind of old, I'm redesigning him a little cause he kinda looks more like some newgrounds character or an incidental invader zim character more than what he's actually supposed to be, also, i don't think any company back in the 90's or 2000's would find it acceptable to have an imp demon as their mascot?? so, yeah. I'm gonna be turning him into a ladybug so that i can keep his colors and design mostly the same, just with minor adjustments to make him look a little more authentically late 90's (which i wasn't around to experience, so i don't have a lot to go off of)
he also meows. you're gonna find that for a lot of stuff i add to my OC's, my only reason for it is that i ''thought it'd be funny.'' this is one of those things. i imagine that it's kinda like a vocal stim or a nervous tic for him, that he usually tries to avoid doing around other people since he finds it a bit embarrassing. i think he'd also be pretty illiterate when it comes to the modern internet, cause he was made for an internet that's pretty much nothing like the one most of us are familiar with nowadays. like he'd still try and exist within it but he prooobably wouldn't be a very great ''assistant'' and couldn't tell you what in the world a ''skibidi toilet'' is to save his life (which is probably for the best...) due to him being ''obsolete''/abandonware he also breaks out of character and forgets his scripts super easily and he's likely to just improvise on the spot to make up for it. his reference picture doesn't communicate this like at all which i'm gonna try to fix in my new reference image but he's also really anxiety prone & sorta jumps between excitement and panic quite a bit. when he gets particularly excited, his grammar and spelling in his ''speech'' (in dialogue boxes) starts to degrade a bit too as a tell, meant to represent the text eqivilant of someone talking too fast to keep up with themselves. he also really likes to be the center of attention, probably because he was the ''mascot'' and the center of attention to his software developers.
however, since he is based off of an existing piece of malware, that's also a part of his character. he himself is not malicious but his 'software' shares a lot of similarities to the one he was based off of. meaning that in the back of his head, while he was doing his job, he was also aware that he was indirectly harming those same people he was helping by infecting their computers. just like i used to have a fascination with the ''old/early'' internet, he has the same sort of fascination towards our world. he is kind of forced to work as a ''double agent,'' he sees us humans almost as ''gods'' for creating him, but he is also helping some humans to steal data and inject a bunch of adware/malicious software into the computers of other humans.
eventually, the internet grew up past its infancy without him. the silver lining for him is that now he's able to fulfill the purpose he was made for without any strings attached, even if he may not be very good at it due to his lack of knowledge about today's internet, and the fact that a lot of his features have all been adapted into other individual programs over the years. at least there will always be some people (like me lol) who have a weird appreciation for weird internet things like him just for the fact that he exists. i think that's kinda, sweet in a way?? he's probably one of my favorite characters i've made

This is a remake of the first edit I ever made, and this image is from september of 2024. It's probably still one of my favorites due to it's simplicity, I wanted this one to be fairly empty in it's composition and for it to communicate some sort of uncertainty. I imagine that even though heaven is where most people would probably wanna go in the after life, that the realization that you're, well, dead, would still make it a weird and even uncomfortable experience, which is what i wanted to portray here.
Censored version of the full edit, (the ''uncensored'' isn't much different other than a bit of extra text that i thought was a bit disturbing maybe so i decided not to include it, i might include a link to the uncensored later but right now imgbb isn't letting me upload images.) I wanted to portray a feeling of overwhelm + isolation with this one, so I made the cityscape in the background (taken from wet dry world in super mario 64) take up the whole sky and added some text to be just barely legible with a house in the center of the photo that's separated from everything else by a large body of water. the entire image is meant to feel a little like it's ''screaming'' at you.
Most of my edits are created as a sort of ''vent art'' i guess, although i make them because i find the process behind making them genuinely fun and it's a nice break from drawing where i tend to stress a lot more about getting things to ''look right.'' the entire point of my style of edits, (''weirdcore'') is that they're meant to be rough around the edges and look a little like something out of a fever dream, it's an aesthetic i've really enjoyed and resonated with ever since 2021 because it does a good job at visually representing what a lot of my mental struggles ''feel like'' for me. (i would like to mention that i am okay and these edits are not actually indicative of my well-being, i really just make these for fun even if they usually have personal meanings to me, because i like weird art :^))

writing some more about those two characters (dante & the other one) from my OG post before i go and doodle some pose ideas for some updated OC reference sheets, just kinda thinking out loud here. might edit this post later to include the (almost finished) ''pilot episode'' i made for this thing.
to elaborate more on the characters personalities (needs work), dante perceives life & everything in it as more of a ''collective,'' and they believe that things will be better someday, hopefully even better than before, now that every remaining human is forced to work together simply for survival. The other main character is much more individualistic than Dante, and a bit more cynical about people. their main goal throughout the series is to somehow achieve ''repentance'' so that they can reunite with their family in heaven, where they believe their family and friends are now.
I think that dante would be the kind to try and go about their life as usual, ''make pretend'' that nothing happened until they can't anymore. either that, or they may be genuinely unaware that anything has changed for a while. maybe some sort of dissociative thing? or maybe their life was already in a sort of ''apocalyptic'' condition, enough to the point that they didn't recognize it. the other main character, on the other hand, meets dante right after the events that led up to the webseries, being left behind while the rest of their family got ''raptured.'' in the episode where they meet they would come off as pretty rude, now part of that is just their personality, being a bit snarky because that's their sense of humor, but also because they're grieving and maybe jealous of dante's ability to ''make pretend'' and seem so unbothered by everything. that frustration from them would calm down though, and the two would become friends, partly out of necessity seeing as how they're the only two humans alive as far as they know.
i haven't worked on this for quite a while but it's still a project that intrigues me. if nothing else, it could be a neat little writing exercise for me seeing as how i still don't know a whole lot about writing. ''episodes'' would be extremely short too, so it's more like writing scenarios with dialogue than writing ''episodes''
P.S: i'm sorry if this strays from the kind of stuff i'm supposed to post, i enjoy a lot of different kinds of art & that includes writing (even if a lot of mine is extremely informal, because it's meant to guide my art & characters more than it's supposed to be traditional book writing)
