I am a budding freelance Illustrator trying to hone my chops, and make a living doing what I love.
My art education has been all over the place, but I started drawing in the 3rd grade by copying video game screen stills. I wish I had stayed more on top of practicing the fundamentals early on, but in high school I though I wanted to be a guitar hero and spent every waking moment focused on music.
My interest in pursuing a music career waned over the years and I found myself completely neglecting most of my creative compulsions altogether because of becoming a working stiff/real-life happening etc. This led to a decline in my mental well-being and serious reevaluation in what I was spending my time on doing. I was feeling stagnant and had to make a change.
In February of 2015 I quit my full-time job and decided to jump headlong into pursuing my passion for illustration once and for all. I am scared shitless about the uncertainty of my financial future, but I feel excited every day about challenging myself more and more. |
