Welcome to Crimson Daggers Brokenspears :).

You've done some nice paintings there - were they both from reference or invented?

Keep it going anyway :).

Hey Artloader, thanks! The girl was from reference, the green guy was a collab in which I painted over someone's sketch.

By the way, does anyone know of some good resources to building one's fundamental skills?

Thanks for the visit on my SB. Theese paintings look quite neat!

As for building fundamental skill, there is just too much to even write out. It depends on what you want to study first. Anatomy, perspective, design, color etc... Did you have any special thing in mind that you would like to start with?

Hey Zorrentos, thanks for stopping by! No problem, your stuff is really cool.

As for fundamentals, my gameplan was to work on the REALLY basic stuff first: accurate sketching, constructive form, values, and perspectives. From there, I figured I would be in a good place to go through Vilppu's anatomy course, as well as forshortening, which is really perspectives + anatomy.

For the last few months I've been learning a bit about color and slowly weening myself off the color picker, but for now I'm willing to put that aside for b&w and stuff listed above. If you know of any stuff that can teach me that, I'd be super grateful. :)

OK so for sketching basic forms sketching and construction, this is free and widely recommended by folks:

And for accuracy this is free (pay what you like) and is also highly recommended by many people:

Hope these help :).

Just dropped a load of money on the Vilppu series since the store is closing. Going to study the hell out of them.
