I feel like I'm learning a lot by looking at the way you draw-- You're very, very good at capturing the human forms, and putting shapes together. Thanks for posting your work. :)

I totally agree with Bookend, same here. And I dig your creatures!

it'd be interesting to see where you'd be at with traditional stuff. Like you're awesome at doing this very traditional style digitally, it'd be a true testament to the learning power of digital if it translated over rather quickly to canvas and paper

Yep, awesome figures as always. Do you use a screen tablet like a cintiq? I never feel like I am totally in control drawing digitally. Always tempted to work more in blobs/shapes because lines are so hard to control.

i absolutely adore your art man, you're the greatest

hey, thanks a lot guys! I appreciate the comments!

@Fedodika I get that a lot, but I'm not sure it'll be that easy. I know I still struggle using graphite, because I'm so used to digital so I don't really plan out as much as I should. Last night's figure drawing session turned out really bad for me, I couldn't get anything decent in 2 hours, it's the first time I actually wanted to leave before the end.

I have several sketchbooks but I rarely post traditional stuff. I'll post some recent ones now.

@Burhghest I do actually use a cintiq 13hd, and yes, I can say it does help a bit with accuracy. But an Intuos shouldn't be too far either, I mean if you get a large intuos and a decent 24" monitor you shouldn't have trouble getting the lines you want. The problem comes when your tablet is very small but the monitor is large. Then the sensitivity of the pen goes nuts and yeah, you'll probably be unable to get any accuracy.

I have some really really nice characters I've done for the project I'm working on, but I can't show them, unfortunately. So not much new stuff

Those pencil sketches are cool Walent! It's the way you always manage to put down awesome lines and shapes and shadow patterns.

Keep posting dude!

Thanks everyone!

Been a while...

I can't say I'm doing very well, mainly because I have a lot of days when I'm simply incapable of drawing one single decent line. The more I search and the more I learn, the closer I am to the thought that I'll never find what I wanna do with this art career...
Yeah, I'm just gonna stop ranting and leave these here

bro you can do whatever you want, I mean you can make Senshii stock photos look like they're from something important! I know what you mean though, its like "what's my thing." Well, maybe make a project, like a series of something that could be fun

Awesome stuff as ever Walent, I especially love those line drawings of the alien dudes - really expressive.

You ever read The War Of Art by Steven Pressfield? When we sit down to do art there will always be a force that resists us - this is how to kick it's ass.

Heeeey I'm back. It's been about 2 months.

I have absolutely nothing to work on so I'm focusing on putting more stuff in my portfolio so I can apply to some jobs.
The main conclusion is I wanna sketch. I wanna become a master of sketching. I'm also thinking of launching a Patreon where you'll be able to see my recorded sketching sessions, or at least the best of, because I'm not sure you'll want to see all the crap. We'll see if it works.

@Fedodika:
Thanks! Funny thing is I discovered something super fun. My gf starting painting some stuff and when I saw it, I was like "oooh, this looks like a creature or something" So I took it further and you can see the result somewhere below.

@Artloader:
Thanks! I heard about that book before, heard people talk about it, but never actually read it.

A sketching Patreon sounds interesting. Are you going to stream sketching by any chance? Would attract more followers to your Patreon. And I personally would love to see you sketching live. Recorded sessions are good but probably not that much attractive to watch.

Cool updates as usual, I love the mech suit sketches. And the centaur turned out great, I suppose it's for the folio.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Maybe do the patreon thing, do some fanart or something to push your work out more, I'd love to see a Walent Cammi or something like that haha!!
