Wow this looks like an awesome opportunity! Thanks for taking your time to do this man, really appreciate the effort.

Here are my latest works. Not sure if I'm good enough for you, but yeah, that's why I'm applying :)

It actually IS a lot of work but opportunities like this must be grabbed by the horns. I want to get better at what I do, and that requires work. Nobody ever good good at something by slacking around.

See you tonight, curious to see what the team'll look like!

Be well,

Chris

[/font] Hi I'm anastasia69 (69 is for yin and yang lol)

I mainly draw females and I'd really like to open my field. I'm a young self-thought artist and I aspire to work in video-game industry rather than health&care:blush:
What else should I say..I like to tell stories with paintings...even though I have very few of this kind of work
My English grammar sucks;my vocabulary doesn't

Here is a folder of my gallery('cause not all my works are good enough for me;but you can watch them too)http://oanaz.deviantart.com/gallery/25277203

thank you very much for this opportunity! I'll do my very best!:sleepy:

Cheers ;)

hey, I think i'd make an excellent 5th member. My goal is to eventually get my work and creative ideas to a level where I'm making a living as a freelance artist/illustrator. I just recently left my job of 8yrs to free up time to pursue this, so i'm very eager and hungry to absorb any and all information you are sharing. So i hope you consider me, I believe i'd be a great addition to the team.

Hey, Cris.
Drawing and illustrating is all I have since I was a kid. I never had any proper education. I wanna learn like hell, I wanna do this right, I wanna become better and be a professional. I feel tired and lonely doing this on my own, trying to figure out stuff, but I'll keep on doing it till the end and always strive to go further forward.
Considering that seeing you has sparked the art in me again, I would feel humble and psyched to have you teach and guide me.
I'm eager to do this, I'm completely free (no job), and wish for nothing more than work.
So, cheers and keep that good soul forward.

so, i wasnt one of the lucky 4. i was really looking forward to this, because i feel that im close to it, but im missing something and i do feel that it is something that comes easier with objektiv guidance..

what do i wish for my future? to become a freelance conceptartist.. and live from my drawing/painting. i admire artists who allways work on themself even if they made it. there is no plan b for me i know that i want this..

what i can offer is a lot of time and a lot of dedication i love art i love drawing, even tough i get frustrated sometimes. i know there is only one way to get better DRAW!

critique allways hurts but it is very important and i am willing to give myself and my art out there to get sloughterd. because i know it is only to push me further.

its a great thing your doing and i would like to be a part of it.

Heyyy SB! It's Raleda from Livestream! I've gotta say, this all sounds pretty interesting, and while I am trying to work full time, I'm willing and able to art in the free time I do have (since I already do that anyway!). I've been working on my own to get into concept art, but somewhere along the way I got on the "I need to improve my basics" Treadmill, and ended up not doing much besides studies. Something like this would go a loooong way.

My Deviantart is http://nadesican.deviantart.com

And for a more boiled down version (excluding my cartoony shenanigans) http://scottforand.daportfolio.com/

I hope to hear from you!

(Ack, Didn't see registration had closed. Was busy filling out job applications ><)

Dammit It had to be a written thing; It's always been a weak point for me, but here goes nothing.

I'm really interested in being the 5th student because I've been in serious rut with my drawing skills since I left for college 3 years ago . Being in a architecture school has sort of deviated me a lot from drawing the things I really like (I think you know the feeling).

I've tried improving my techniques with tons of studies but i'm still missing that spark that I had few years back in highschool where I had a arts teacher that guided me. Because he was a painter and not a conceptartist, per say, I picked up a lot of things that I wasn't even aware of in the first place. I'm not saying that the last years have been a total stop, but i'm not quite feeling the "level up" i've been hoping for all this time. That's why I think that having you as a mentor, and having a structured learning system would widen my perspective on the whole art thing and I'll finally be able to hop over my standstill.

As for the future, untill now I've been determined as hell to finish college and land a gaming industry job as soon as I can, but a thought keeps creeping at the back of my skull that i'm just gonna work for a architecture firm and eventually after a few years I'll be a architect myself... and i'll live a boring life hating my job. Not that it's so bad to be a architect but i'd dissapoint a 5 - 7 year old version me, that thought that I'll allways be drawing awesome monsters and dragons. Basically that's what's cool about working in the gaming industry you get to be a kid at heart for ever, while still getting a paycheck.

Again I know that there are a lot of people here that deserve this more than I do, but hey why not give it a shot, right ?

Sorry if it was too much of a sob story, Have a awesome night all of you guys and good luck. And Cris, dude, you're the true super hero here for helping out these people. We need more people like you and all the other mentors here on Crimson Daggers.

oh and one last thing, I think i'd make a wicked Dr. Doom. Bhahahawww

Hey there everyone!

So in order to give you a villain, I had to reinvent myself. I am...Captain Copic, and one day I shall rule the galaxy...! (More or less)

No, but now in all seriousness:

Why would I fit into the team? What would make me a good 'villain'?
Well first off, what is a villain? A bad guy sure, but if you look closely, you'll find much more important qualities. In today's entertainment industry, the villain gets, almost everytime, beaten by the hero. But one thing never happens: The villain simply walking away. No matter how deep they fall, they always get back up and fight for what they really want.

In other words: They never give up. They do everything in their power to achieve their goals, no matter how hard it is, or how many people oppose him.

I'm not a bad guy, but on precicely that level, I can identify very much with every villain there is. I don't give up. I grab the chances I get by the balls and do what I can to get where I want to be.

The entertainment industry has always fascinated me. From my early childhood on I knew: 'Dude, I wanna make games!'. Over the years I built myself a visual library resulting from hours spent in front of the TV or in the cinema. 2 years ago, I started taking things seriously, familiarizing myself with the industry, and with that, learning how hard it is to acquire the skills you need to be taken seriously. I've spent hours training and drawing, but without proffessional guidance, my skills are not growing at the pace I'd like them to.

I am 21, I know I have time to learn things. That's what people tell me. But In my opinion, life is short enough already. I might as well speed the process up.

As you can probably tell from this, my dream job is set somewhere in the entertainment industry. Be it the video game industry, or the cinema. That has been my passion for my whole life, and now, I think it's time to give something back to the people. My vision of my own.

For that I need skills. Skills you can teach me over these 4 months.

Every single person here in this thread is more then deserving, so I absolutely understand when you pick somebody else.

After all, nobody will keep me from doing the assignments you give to the team. I'll be around, one way or the other.

Be well, and best of luck everyone!

Chris

Sup Cristian

Im not gonna try to promote myself. This is just my story as it happend:

When I was 24 I realized after working in bars I wasnt living the life I wanted.
Conceptart always intrigued me. I started researching and found that the best guys I could find at the time (Feng Zhu, Iain McCaig etc.) all had industrial design background. So I applied to the best ID school I could find. It took me 3 years to get in. From then Ive been doing almost everything design related except conceptart, somewhere along the way I lost track of that dream. Which was the reason I picked up the pen in the first place.

So I rededicated myself a few months ago and I was fortunate enough to get a conceptart-job pretty quickly, they offered me a trial to test me. After the trial was over they told me very frankly that I was not good/fast enough. That was hard to hear to say the least, but it was the truth.

This was only just a few days ago, so I was pleasantly suprised when you offered this mentoring. Timing is perfect for me, Im without a doubt mentally prepared.

To your questions:

1. Expectation: To benefit from a practice schedule and to get proper tasks and feedback - in short, accelerate my learning curve.

2. Futureplans: I want to create movies. On my freetime I write scripts and stories. I like to be able to create the whole thing from scratch; words and visuals.

3. As for why I would be a good 5 th. I havent got an answer. I think thats something you have to get a feeling for.

Im sure I would manage myself, but that goes for all of us. We all have to do the actual brushstrokes ourself. Being mentored is just bonus. A bonus I definatly wouldnt mind...

So pick me pick me pick me lol :D

Cheers
