Im going to leave this one for a bit, I just feel like I'm doodling and not learning anything. So I'm going to do some studies, and some overdue illustrations.

So here is a new Illustration I'm working on! It's been very interesting and out of my comfort zone, been focusing on lighting and shape. Next I'll color and render it---- but I want to break away from it for maybe a week and do some short term stuff.

Also happy late new year! I graduate from college at the end of the first week this February. So After then I will be posting a LOT more. Keep watching out. :]

Quick sketch of mega frog from ADVENTURE TIME. Came out a bit sloppy, but it was different and fun.

Did sorta a value test with an old old character design I had. Using only the soft brush cause it seemed like a good idea. Eh-

You know what I see in that last piece? Just look at it. I don't think I'll need to say it.

Dinosaurs man, they were made to look like something else Haha. I didn't see that until after you mentioned it, ah well. I wonder if any of these have those in them.

Some line drawings of pterodactyls to study up for a big piece I may do.

Nice work man, the dinosaur sketches look sweet. Really like the lighting on mega frog as well. Keep it up :)

Wow those loose lines look pretty nice.

@JakeB Hah thanks bro. Mega frog gets no love.
@Liberty eh, did em pretty quick. Wasn't even on my usual tablet/computer when I did it haha.

@Mannequin Haha thanks, I wouldn't say I know what I'm doing. I'm just doing stuff and seeing what works. Is that knowing what you're doing? hahaha.
@Euecager Thanks! I'll try to update that piece soon-ish. Gotta do some color studies first.

Some really quick gestures 2-4 minutes each. I should do these every day, hopefully that way they'll start looking decent.

And some female face studies. About 20-30 minutes per face. I tried focusing on form and line.

Yea, I think You can improve quickly by looking :D or is it my feeling only, heh.

You're using some lines for help on faces? 30 minutes for one face isn't a lot for only essencial lines?

@Mannequin no it's a lot. I just do things slow and get them right, it's just how I do it.

Kick-Ass movie study, more of a face study (duh) which made me unhappy with how I handled skin.

SO, I wanted to do a material study... or 15!

Funny enough none were skin.... go figure.

I love the faces - and I don't think 30 mins is a lot, really. Speed is the last step - only worry about it when you get the actual quality right. So youre on the right track here, and the lines looks pretty good.

Love the material studies, did they had ref for each? Very nice. What was the focus? Just making spheres based on materials?
