Your image studies have been coming out almost on point urs :D the only thing I would say is be a little more liberal with the hard brush. your edges are a tad soft besides that i love em

@Toodles: Thanks man. Yeah, I had this feedback mu edges were too hard, and I am trying to find balance, but I just feel like I am failing left and right haha
Failed pretty badly today. I am torn - I hate the lasso tool, but I don't think I will ever do this work without it. Still tried to keep tone accuracy though. Photo by Pearwood, on http://pearwood.deviantart.com/art/2013-...wood&qo=65

hey ursula,
it is a great idea to study pictures of other artists, i don't do it enough though. yours are really cool and the only thing i can say has been said: maybe try some harder brushes, maybe even work only with hard brushes on a study and see what it does for you. other than that, you are amazing.

@Pearwood: Thanks :D I'll abuse your photos again if you don't mind!
@Flo: Thanks! But I will still trying some softer edges for a while. I do use hard brushes (just check my portfolio), and I received this intriguing feedback about edges on the imaginism workshop - that my edges were too hard, and that's why my paintings are jelly like. So I'll try to get used to the soft edges a bit more, and if it doesnt work out, I'll go back to hard edges. Today's

The soft edges work very well here, adding to the dreamy feel.
04-05-2013, 11:07 AM
@Pearwood: thank you :D I agree!
Today's

@Veneq: Woot :D Thanks man! You though friday was going to win over me right? I though so too... |
