#1: Depends on how you implement it. I think there has to be a conclusion to the arc that is on that page..so we aren't left in the middle of some major decision point or something like that. Probably less risky if you do something self-contained? Leave that up to you though.
#2: No, I think a strip is a completely different format. That's the one thing that we'd like to keep consistent. Unless you are thinking like those Calvin and Hobbes one-pagers, which are sort of like an extended strip. That's probably ok.
