1. Can there be other other creatures or people in the illustration as long as they are not the main focal point, but show the story and mood?

2. Should the companions be creepy-looking or is it enough that the environment is creepy? I'm pretty much sure I saw "creepy companions" phrase during the stream but can't find it in the brief

1. I'd say there can be other characters as long as you keep the two companions as the focal point. A viewer has to emediately recognise them as the main characters.

2. It was actually supposed to be a halloween themed challenge, so we changed the title, so people wouldn't get confused.

Hey guys, do we have to create a character sheet for each character or just the illustration?

"to design two companions" and "and then create an illustration"
made me suspicious

The final product we will judge is the illustration, but we'd like to see your studies and design sketches (they don't have to be very refined though, as long as they help you acheve the main goal).
