It's better for sure but you're right still some value and shape language things that could be better. I did a paintover rather than use words. Also gonna drop some ref down in here. If you want explanation of the paintover, just let me know...it's mostly obvious what I did I think. The shape language of the tree now thankfully also covers up the maple leaf custom brush too. Bonus. Check out the first jungle book image for how he handled leaves with a custom brush.
*EDIT unfortunately the paintover image looks more desaturated in my browser than in Krita even though I have the sRGB profile embedded. If it looks less saturated in yours, just try and imagine it about the same as your original, I didn't mess with that, though I did brighten up the darkest dark values
