Thanks for the fabulous critique, you make excellent observations.
With the ears and nose cast studies, it seems like your lines/contours are getting too dark, where a lot of those edges could be more blended in and lost. Also maybe spend more time getting smoother gradations and solid tones, spending a day or more just to render edges and values out near perfectly will help in personal work too.
