My personal preference is for the original palette, but I'm a sucker for the highly saturated anime of previous decades, painfully drawn and painted on cels (no animators were harmed in the making of this film).Ha ha ha. Any examples of those animes you mention?
Good job with the semi-realistic anime style though. It's hard to pull off.
I think I still don't grasp enough to call it a style lol, but I would like to get it somewhere along a more realistic lines if I could, then again abstraction is kind of the point sometimes so, I'm torn.

I think the only thing I have to add is that the character's placement (or rather, size) feels a bit awkward - he's kinda just, *there*. Like Fed mentioned, sizing him up would really help just pull things together a bit more.
Loving the Sailor Moon redraw too. The more gritter, less saturated style is an interesting take for it. I like the way you handled the hair. My only crit on it would be to watch out for that hitchhikers thumb ;)
Noted. Thanks! Alright, I think I saw what you mention about the thumb, not sure if it will look better now.

Ha ha, yeah I really wanted to bridge Sailormoon with DBZ or more shonen gritty stuff! I played it somewhat mildly tho.
Leaving the challenge a bit more cleaner, a figure study that I should push further in some areas but invested more time than I wanted to in it (~6h), another landscape on the lines of the last ones which I'm probably gonna abandon since I'm not liking again what I have so far (not very interesting to look at, no story). And started out to try to build guns in perspective, lukewarm with results but I'm gonna try and do a bunch of these, figure out how to push the forms and make more complex details, gotta say doing things like a fully correctly drawn picatinny rail, just makes me want to gouge my eyes out, so I'm just bullshitting them lol (sighs..).
