Nice work with the gemstone, very solid design.  I think you used a soft brush for the lines on the outline of the skull, and it doesn't gel well with the rest of the linework which is hard edged.  I would use a hard edged line instead to keep everything consistent.  And I agree about investing in a tablet, it's absolutely essential - you'll work faster and get way better results in the process!

I did only use a hard brush the softness come from having a change of mind and resizing thing which cause loose of pixel when thing get bigger.This is a initial sketch so the line quality as no importance at that stage beyond being decipherable by myself.
