The starving artist is a really tired cliche. People confuse aspiring professional artist with professional artist. Theres plenty of successful artist out there. Sure there arnt many millionaire artists but plenty that make a living at what they do. I wouldnt worry about convincing these people with words. Its very hard to change peoples minds that way. And why does it even matter what they think? You know what you're talking about and they dont. Just keep doing what you're doing and eventually you're actions will speak for you.
