Hey, I've seen a lot of guys flipping the Photoshop canvas while painting. Why is that and should I be doing it?

A lot of people do that because by flipping the canvas, for a second your brain reads the picture like something completely new, that way you can spot lots of mistakes that can pass unnoticed if you dont flip the canvas.
Asumming that you are using photoshop, go to preferences, keyboard shortcuts and create your own shortcut to flip the canvas, in my case is Ctrl Ñ

Essentially what Eduardo said. If you don't, this happens. Keep that in mind.
