Hi there,
I joined this forum in search for some motivation and to force myself to practice a lot more in my free time. At work I usually design vehicles / architecture / ID related stuff, but i barely get the chance to draw characters / environments / illustrations. Therefore I startet this thread to establish some sort of training-routine for myself to broaden my horizon. I hope to fill this thread with lots of sketches of subjects i am uncomfortable with
Rules are as follows:
- 1 study + 1 speedpainting a day ( ~1hour each)
- sunday free (time to reorganise, complete missing images)
- for each practice that's missing by the end of the week i'll pay 5€ into my looser-cash-box (and donate it to charity by the end of the year or something)
P.S.: If anybody is interested in doing some Study Buddy Sheets, send my a PM :)

Really nice start here! Some great studies.
Never heard of study buddy sheets, learned something new :)
And I like the routine and the idea of the 5€ in the box!
Mind if I use something alike as well? :p

I found out about Study Buddy a few years back on Paul Richards blog.....I have no idea if he came up with the idea or if somebody else startet it.
If you like to try it out yourself, you can find a link to the Master Sheet here:

Wooooow your sketchbook looks sooo good!
I really don't have anything to critique, those MPDC sheets are friggin' brilliant!! Most of them that you designed are rendered a lot cooler than their originals!
Keep up the awesome work!

I really like the way you are orgnised. I might try that Study Buddy sheet you are doing. (after my exams) .
You have amazing portrait studies, even if they are sketches and done quickly, you manage to get the expression, details and everything that represents that person. Great job!
I can't wait to see more in this sketchbook :D
Have fun^^

I just love the monster barbequing--the hat and apron just made me laugh. Little scared to know what's on that grill. Beautiful light and colors, too.
Really like the shape of the mechs.
