Looks like you are on the right track here.

Ok feedback time:

It looks to me that mark making is your biggest downfall, you use a lot of scratchy small brushes, and seem to have a hard time blending colours. There Is nothing wrong with using soft brushes for blending as long as you do the required cleanup with like erasing back hard edges into it, and using texture where you should. It's really evident how you paint skin.

Really like the grungy feel of the hooded lady, and the dashes of red are a perfect touch.
