Those value exercises from the first page look like something I need to do. I can definitely see them paying off in your still life and armor studies.

Some 30 mins challenges with reflective surfaces and gems. Each panel was done in 30 min max. These were really fun to do.
I will work with color soon, don't worry! I need first to get a full understanding of values, light and space. One step a time, there is no need to rush and then not knowing why stuff isn't working.
