Here is what I have so far. Need to do some studies for the girls and various other things, but this is basically going to be the composition.

Did some girl studies for Satsuke and Mei just to get a grip on anatomy for a 4 and 10 year old.

Nice! It made me giggle, in a good way. :D

It might be worth trying a comp where he's flying up into the sky, so not so close to the ground, and you can see the trees from a semi top-down view/angle. It should work without changing him at all, just get rid of his shadow and show the tops of trees and maybe their house? Might make for a more interesting background.
