Hey Daryl, I was looking through your portfolio and I noticed something that should help. I can see you are fighting with what direction you are going in. There are two different styles you seem to be working in. One is a very confident cartoony style and the other is a very timid academic style. The two are not mutually exclusive. Try to make the same sense out of a photo that you find in a cartoon, then apply what you learn along the way. Another thing that you should work on is creating your own characters, rather than just fan art.
