LaleAnn - Thanks so much for dropping by, i really appreciate it! Keep working at things, you have a good level of rendering skill, do more drawings, it should really help!

So my next piece involves the concept of 'Symbiosis'. The whole idea is that centaurs work with elves for survival. I know this can get silly really quickly, so i've got to be careful!

I chose the last thumbnail to take things forwards. It got a bit more love.

Go with the third one but move the background figure down a bit so his hair doesn't tangent; Third time's the charm on this one for sure ;)

Fedodika - took your advice!

Mid way through this one. Its been fun so far. At the moment just trying to make the armour make sense. This whole design business is really new to me, and i think i need to put my mind to it a bit more. Im pleased with the way the whole thing is going though, hopefully it wont take too long now!

I always feel if you get the back ground done first, it really helps, becuase i dont need to dread doing it later! Also getting the faces done early gives you more purpose to continue finishing it, its almost there!

Thanks again for the feedback, kind words :D

Ben Flores - Thanks dude! Im not holding my breath, but maybe one day ill work for them!

Fedodika - You can be yo bottom dollah!

Well here's more progress - really slow due to lots of weekends away with family or for work, but hopefully another 2 weeks and ill have it down. I've got to move onto the foregound and back centaurs, before really looking over the main focal point again. This has by far been the most detailed and challenging piece i've tried.

Piotr and Nymph0 - Thanks dudes!

Heres an update, very almost done. STill some work on the back ground figures to be done.

I tried really hard to add detail and not spoil the thumbnail appeal of the image.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Nice update on the piece. Looking good. Definitely needs some lost edge work, especially with the distant figures. The level of detail is probably good for them, but they are pretty hard edged. Similar for around the painting in general.
I think you need to push separation of the fabric on the centaur, it blends and flattens a lot with everything else, needs some cast shadows I guess. I also am drawn quite a bit to the rear of the centaur, maybe because again it is a pretty sharp silhouette and very simplified in form compared to front legs.
Might want to consider showing even more motion, again with some well chosen edgework. Nice stuff man!

Love the concept of the female archers working with the male centaur, geeeenius, one of your best ones so far. Great work on it!

Wow - awesome work Kimonas :). Great perspective work on the anatomy of the main archer girl and centaur. I'm loving the armour design as well.

Looking forward to more :).

Hey Kimonas, love the piece so far.

I wanted to do a quick paintover on it to see if I could enhance it in any way.

I felt the perspective was a little forced on the legs compared to the body. I know the pose in this version is a little more stale but feels more right with the body. If you can make the perspective work with your pose I would definitely go with that one. I Increased the sword size, because I felt the sword was a little small and should be floating a bit more in front of her. I also made the wings mirrored and appear more like they would be flapping.

Nothing major, and not necessarily better or worse, but perhaps it might give you a new perspective on the piece.

Hey Dennis!

Thanks for taking the time to do a paint over. Your feedback helped me realise that my perspective was off. Part of me agrees with you - abandon the silly perspective anmgle and do what im used too.... buuuuutttttt....im a glutton for punishment and i am determined to make it work!

I changed a few things - the head wasnt overlapping the torso enough, and the chest was dead on straight, which is very unatural, so i changed its angle to the side a bit.

I might play about with the size and position of the sword yet - things look a lot different with tones down :D

Will probably spend a few more days on the sketch tho :)
