Thanks dude, I've definitely been procrastinating some longer studies but feel this is the way i will improve

I see you're doing some opaque brushwork which is good and your colors are looking accurate; my advice would be to make sure those shapes are fitting together right. Like, make real sure early on like that box the cup is on isn't sinking in, make sure that cup is sitting comfortably on top, and the elipses that make the cup are just right. Use elipse tools and line tools if you have to to get the idea, those basic shapes are crucial to everything we draw, so be careful with them!

Thanks Fedokika. These have been pretty rough colour and light studies but I'll make sure for my longer ones I'll focus more on form.
1. Diffuse light
2. Direct light source
3. Imagination
4. Corrections from imagination
all around 20 mins each

I like the progression of tackling the same study in different ways. The last lamp is the best!

Thanks Tygerson!

A still life just using value which I tried to apply what I've learnt from imagination and then correct my mistakes, an overcast light study using a similair proccess and an environment study. The top one using mapcrunch and then below that exaggerating it. Also a colour script for a friend's project!

Day 8: Spent a bit longer on the study... maybe an hour?

Day 9 was tricky. I found it hard to group the shapes of the tree. My imagination study feels way too desaturated and overexposed... I needed to add more darks to foreground as it feel washed out. I've know to keep those darks to have that contrast.

This is a cool exercise! Scrolling through here is like going on a little road trip!

Thanks Tygerson!

Day 10, again a tendancy to go to bright and desaturated with the imagination study. Something  I need to be mindful of. An overcast study and some colour thumbnails for a project I'm working on:

Day 11- it was interesting to do a dark overcast shot with little saturation in the colours. I feel for my imagination study I overexposed again but this time undersaturated the colours. 30 mins each isn't long to be doing these but I feel it's improving my decision making.

Day 12- tried a new method which is more painterly and less blocking in clean shapes early. I found it more effective for the study because it was more time efficient and intuitive but harder for the imagination piece because it's harder to remember blocking stuff out. I could've definitely created more of a sense of depth and atmosphere.
