last study is a good level up compared to before ! i'd suggest though to not simplify too much the colors . What i mean is that if you only remove the hue and only keep the values, it's good to simplify your light and shadow values, but color is so much more subtle, and you can simplify the values and make it work, it's even better, but when you simplify colors you're killing the actual beauty of it and it's too bad ! I really think the best way to learn colors and skintones is to really observe a lot and just use a round brush and get the same mood that what is in front of you, life a spoon or some fruits, or a selfportrait or wathever ! you'll have to make some choices, like maybe increase contrast between light and shadow, or exaggerating the warm colors, etc, to create the same light or color effect ! Those choices will teach you a lot !

thank you for the critique! I'm definitely trying to get better with my color understanding, I do agree that I need more hue shifting to get those really nice undertones you can see in the skin. it's just a matter of me finally understanding color theory ^^;

I mean, I have some stuff like this if this is what you're looking for? Otherwise I just really don't do linework ^^;

Some updated study pieces I've been doing recently~ most of these are focused mainly on color and lighting so some linework may be missing or just not that nice tbh

Hello! It's been a very very long time since I've been here! I want to force myself to be accountable for how much I draw now that I want to focus on a comic I want to make with a friend. So to start off I suppose I'll post what I've done so far in my new sketchbook and then move on to some illustrations I've done recently! And then keep up to date from there~
