Hello.

Those are my first sketches for my Blackfish, or Brynden Tully redesign.
I want to make a more fantasy/sci fi approach for this project.

The Tully's are know for being the ruler house from the riverlands.
Brynden is the "black goat of the family", he denied marrying someone he didnt wanted to and became infamous for that. Even though he's the one who care the most about family and honor.

I focused on bringing his new last name " Blackfish" more apparent in his design.
So, as they live close to the river, i made hi as this hybrid fighter, who can fight in and outside the water.

And,  SMALL SPOILER ALERT

In the 5th book he made to sneak through the entire Lannister army, swimming across the river, so the stealthy appearance that the black and the tight clothes give comes in agreement with the plot.

End of spoiler

Now i'll be doing a more tight approach to the design, so i can clearly decide the appearence of everything before i start a illustration.

Soon i'll make more updates.

See ya!

Great start. The scale textures are a nice design element. Keen to see this develop!

Some composition studies for the piece.

As suggested in the challenge description i'm making a relationship between the figure and the enviroment.
As i go in to the linedrawing i might draw a more detailed enviroment.

What do you guys think, what is your favorite?

I like all of them. The second one seems to have the most energy and an angle that is not done too often. If you aim for "cool pose" then nr 1. But really any of them is good, maybe only 4th is not so much interesting.

I personally like 1 and 3. I think they include the bg a bit more.
