Hey Havegum! Your gesture and figure studies are coming along nicely! Your face value studies, in particular, are looking good. One thing that may help with the "sameness" issue of faces is to do studies of other artists paintings and how they paint faces. That might help break some of that repetition as you will pick up habits from doing those studies that you don't normally do.
Also to keep up dat fire, I would recommend finishing pieces on a sort of regular schedule, especially if you aren't comfortable creating fully finished pieces. You'll learn a lot and see how far you still need to go after you put every ounce of effort into something. Of course, some people have different styles of learning, but from my own experience and from some others I've seen, it's the best way to get better fast.
