Fedodika the Koala
Desqueler: Pun? i didnt think i put a pun in there lol; thx ya lol, should be starting soon on Erik Gist's intensely dry anatomy intensives lol

Toxicpanda: I am drawing these with a local professional named Gary Pound; He's an older guy, sells sketches for 3500$ a pop. We split the model cost, thats about 30$ an hour but theres about 5 people there usually so there its about 10-15$ per person and its once a week friday mornings for 3 hrs. And thank youz <3

Darkiste: meh sounds boring :p Youre right i wont always want to draw what i'm drawing, hence why I edit to make me want to draw it more

So some intensives with the anterior part of the leg; more or less refreshing some memory on things i knew, but revealing some things i never knew like the tendons that attatch to the big toe and how crucial they are to the function of the leg. A lot of things make more sense about the names of muscles since theyve had more time to marinate in my head over the years, and it seems much less confusing and cryptic. that leg drawing is done in mechanical pencil and ya i know i could push the value deeper on the shadow side, im still trying to get used to working in 2b and B size graphite with those, just the sensitivity is very different from the 1710B contes which have a full value range.

Also two figure lay ins, whose proportions are off here and there, but were still fun, and im gonna try and start some of jeffs master studies in tomorrows studies; also possibly drawing the rest of the figures in the workbooks that dont have videos on them lloooolololol

bout a 3 hr effort today on this, also got a little more into the anatomy of the leg. I think its good to learn that stuff after you've drawn a lot so you know what you're looking for, specially if you get used to certain patterns in anatomy. like that thing under your knee, the strap is called the Illio-tibial band, illio meaning its part of the ridge of the hip, so its starts there and finishes under the patella.

Also playing around with some 3d stuff for a cool pose i may try to render for fun, obviously adding my opinion to the anatomy since a lot of 3d stuff has in the ballpark anatomy/lighting but the features themselves are not stellar, specially the hand shapes.

Leeegz, i doctored the proportion errors i could see before uploading these, one was too curved, another's calve was too big; Erik Gist is a BEAST

whew, this was one very fun; and i find watching the watts vid maybe halfway then trying to finish it on my own then going back and finishing the vid is helpful. I pay more attention to what i didn't do and how it could be done more eloquently. I cropped the foot out and it instantly got better lol, its  a really bad foot, and i wanna revel in the upper part today lol. Showed me that i really really dont know torso anatomy, and arms as well, though iwas picking up some cues from memory on the leg anatomy.

Gonna try to do some imagination stuff soon, and a portrait from a photo for a present, so life drawing tomorrow and see ya then

That old man drawing looks pretty cool! Gestures too. Let's see what you'll come up with imagination-wise ;)

Neo: hehe thanks :)

life drawing today was very fun; im really happy with how these turned out and now i only want to top them! I did a little imagination sketch, well i used some 3d to mock up the pose i wanted with the lighting it's something i need to explore more because the possibilities are so vast; I didnt do much planning for it, and only spent 2 or 3 hrs on it, but i like the direction its headed.

I think once i finish all of the core watts classes which the ones left would be head 4 and figure 3 and 4 i'll try to make a more legit illustration piece with planning, thumbnails, research, etc. i do wanna do some fantasy stuff, some fanart eventually, and get some good work, but it'll be a while since i got a lot of stuff i still need to learn before even approaching that

Your killing it man!

I like the personal piece your wokring on, feel like something is off though proportion wise in the upper part of the figure, not sure it's the hands or not can't quite put my finger on it.

I think you have flatten the shoulder a bit to far the left one should poke out a little more.

Peter: Thanks dude! I added a few color splashes to it but i dont think im gonna go any further with it; its just a weekly thing to see where im at and when i get down to doing an actual folio piece i'll plan the shit out of it. I shrunk the arms, they were pretty bulky, so that mighta been the issue

Darkiste: Alright, i guess im gonna critique your critique here; so, here's a 3d model based on a photo of the pose. So the top of the acromium process is what makes that first round shape on the top which flows into the teres major/minor area. Youre close, but there is an extra straight in there, which could also simplify the whole thing itself. Also keep in mind when the bicep is pressed against the torso it compresses and doesnt narrow as you've indicated. Yea the shadow is in an unfortunate spot which hides the crease of the arm, but it is a very tricky angle, hence why i used 3d, but i DID start from a line drawing on a seperate file lol. I appreciate you keepin me on my toes :)

What i mainly learned is when i set up the lighting i should pay more attention to the creases in limbs and connections so i can make them not lost in darkness or what not, or maybe i should, just make sure to get the overall contour right lol

Started quick sketch 3 for figures on watts today, man its extremely difficult. These are 2 minute poses, some going into threes, and the challenge is to indicate fine anatomy and tone and line weight in a very small limit. Requires a lot more focus and finesse than i'd ever put into gestural drawings. That's what probably cost me a lot of time early on was doing gestures very half hazard with no attention to quality. now with a nice pencil, nice paper, and a goal in mind, its just... totally different experience, yeea 22 vids left to go for this stuff, it's brutal! hope i grow to love it <3

moaar quicksketch, these are taxing as hell but very fun and watching jeff is teaching me lotsa cool stuff about how to reshape a figure into something more attractive; like working off active vs inactive sides, or shaving down lines, pushing them forward. Still, im appreciating more and more the form of something and how it can be indicated very quickly to build more forms upon. i would do more in a day, but man just the exertion and focus needed on these is strangely much higher than a longer effort

Gave my arm a good break today, only managed to squeeze this arm which im not satisfied with in. I watched tons and tons of stuff and read a very many things on arm anatomy and it was nice to just catch up on all that stuff. Proko really does some magic of turning a very tedious subject matter into something moderately entertaining.

But yea after reading and watching all that my eye of course jumps ahead and this arm drawing i did just troubles me on many grounds, via like the proportions, the way the hatching is executed, the contours of certain forms. I still to internalize the fact that the bicep moves up a quarter the way the bone of the arm when in certain positions, it looks very weird to me. that and like, the deltoid isnt a round shape, more triangular, and from the side its not symmetrical. lots of art red pills id say, very muscley mm indeed, life drawing tomorrow so should be interesting to apply all this quick sketch for the first time :O

Posting here is such a habit for me that i have dreams of reading replies from non existent accounts. It happens maybe once a week, I'll dream that i check replies and there will be these accounts ive never seen that seem to be on one of three mindsets. One tone is congratulatory, or impressed, one is very hostile and critical, and one argues between the two tones.

What's cool is, i can click these accounts and they have sketchbooks, and my imagination generates a unique style for each account, like some have an anime style, or creatures, etc. Some are better than me, some worse.. They also have websites, artstations, instagrams lol even posting their meals and selfies its weird how much time i spend on the internet...

I dont have any consistent names for them, its random each time, but they usually offer advice i end up needing which is interesting. Last night they mentioned the watts abstraction and how i need to memorize it.

After life drawing today, i really got to thinkin about it and decided to give it a shot. So basically the problems i run into in life drawing are that i dont draw through the form enough and need a consistent road map to getting the proportions right. Learning the riley rythms for the head really helps me see symmetry better and helped loads so im gonna try and copy the abstraction once in the morning to warm up  since it takes a good 15-20 minutes and that gets my eyes in gear for comparing and seeing properly.

Poses today were brutal though, some were embarassing, but i liked the quicker ones since i'd been doing quick sketch a lot :) Might draw some sexy ladies from imagination tomorrow, just sketches you know, not jump into composition too hard before i get the drawing thing solid

Drawing through is so underated because we don't see object as if they were transparent so it feel unatural and we tend to abandon rapidly because of the incomfort simply the brain want us to see object into symbol rather than see them as dimentional object so we fight with the brain lazyness to sculpt them into your mind.

Darkiste: Thank youz, hopefully i can get some with a little more consistency, its all about helping people remember they want one really

got the commission done, abstraction, and some quick sketch; I really see the value in quick sketch because it helps me spot mistakes as i make them, usually in a proportion area, get em out in the open quicker. Might do some digital reference stuff tomorrow, but try not to spend hours rendering each one, just quick but accurate efforts
