Here's a WIP for an illustration series I'm currently working on. It will be somewhat an application of the things I've learned during my 4 months of self-study. I have 2 friends "art directing" me throughout the process but I will also be welcome to accept critiques from anyone. :)

I would love for you to draw designs allllll over my body. Seriously tho, great start to your sketchbook. If you think I am being a fanboy, look at my beginning compared to yours and realize the truth hahahaha
keep it up man!

Hiya - great progress and nice portrait of your fiancee, lovely colours. Love the last illustration too, keep up the good work!

Mannyhaatz - Thanks for appreciating man. There's no bad start at anything really, just bad endings. You wouldn't have bad endings if you just keep on chasing your goal. :)
Angel_Intheuk - Thanks man. Well, the most special someone in your life will always be your most precious commissioner, LOL. Pressure is at work there really. --- So here's yesterday's color study. It's based off of a piece by Paul Lasaine. And some more anatomy studies to help me with my current project.

Here's a WIP for the second piece in my planned series of illustrations. I made a drastic change in my process as I ran into problems with the first one. The usual problem of zooming in and getting into details when the form/comp has yet to come solid. So I put that on hold and hope to gain momentum on this piece.

Nice to hear about your process modification. Nail that composition! Right now all the values in your image look very muted to me, I think you should darken the darks and lighten the lights.

Same as what Sam said; I'm glad to hear you have changed your process a bit. One step at a time, haha.
Also, I love your stylized ink stuff on page one. Very original!

I quite like the anatomy studies in pencils :) As for zooming in / out, I've made it so it's quite cumbersome to zoom, to spend as much time as I can from far away, and once that's solved, go dive in to the small details. It has benefited me greatly, actually.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the kind words. Quite de-stressing actually, and I greatly appreciate it. It's a bummer that I haven't updated in a couple of weeks, as I'm currently sorting out some personal trials (non-artistic). So I have to hold my digital projects for a while. But I still manage to do a lot of mark-making on my sketchbooks. I'm quite determined at this so there's no reason to stop :) Some Hampton studies: Sargent and exploring different techniques: random enviro doodle: and some Moleskine action (from my facebook page) Hope to be back on track soon.
