Hey all,

Just starting my sketchbook here. Here's a poster I did for my dance crew's jam this past weekend. I was inspired by old Jazz handbill posters:



I did those with ballpoint pen. I'm on the bottom right.
If you're curious, here's me dancing at it. It was a pretty good turnout, ~200 people coming in from a whole bunch of different states.

I haven't posted here for the last 10 years haha.
Since then, I've still had the same corporate design job, designing yearbook covers for all sorts of schools around North America, over 100 a year - sometimes they're illustrative, a lot of times more towards graphic design.
I've also become a live caricature artist at fairs and parties.  I worked on the weekends at my local amusement park and zoo initially.  I've also competed in the International Society of Caricature Artists convention every year since 2017 (over 200 caricaturist from around the world draw each other for a week).  The last two years I've won awards for combining caricatures with paper engineering/pop-ups.  My degree is in industrial design, so the pop-ups kind of scratch that itch.

Nice updates here! I would look for a more well balanced mid-tone for your painting. The latest caricatures are crazy good, you nailed them!
