did a portrait study of this lovely lady. i know that the values and everything aren't 100% correct, and i need to learn how to blend better, and the likeness isn't exact, but overall i'm fairly pleased with it. i'm not as intimidated by doing painted portrait studies as i used to be. and i managed to do this in under an hour, which is progress!

wow, looking at this again, i totally failed to portray the SUBTLE value shifts in human skin. yikes!! well, live and learn i guess

2 studies before bed. from reference, obviously. i think the portrait is an improvement over my last one, i'm learned how to blend a bit better, but i still need to work on sticking closer to the reference. also, eyes give me a lot of trouble for some reason. the torso was just a quick one, to sort of look at the planes of the figure and try to improve my hand skill for painting.
