Hello everyone! My name is Mike.

My story.

High school, I was a art god( well at high school level at least :) ) Did murals in the city for the city and hyper realism oil paintings that were dark and surreal. I never really practiced hard growing up, I was just that kid that had the talent to look beyond the object and see the intricacies within. After High school and turning down two full art scholarships, life took hold and I stopped painting all together for many personal reasons.

Now, fast forward 14 years. Making money, stressed out on everything that goes around that. Recently, I was laid off from my job. With a family that will shock your life! Now making 1/4 the money that I did before. I decided to go back to what made me feel good and live life! Art, the feelings you get when you are working on something so hard and digging deep into your imagination can never be expressed in words. So about a month ago I went bought myself wacom intuis tablet and cs5. Started doing some little sketches with a group online I found, But realized I needed to be challenged more.

So here I am. Still trying to find my style. The more I sketch, the more I am starting to dust off those old creative files in the back of my brain. I hope to go to the next level here. At first glance I feel pretty intimidated. And also sad that I didn't live my dream like a lot of you have. But hope to make some friends which isn't easy for me as an introvert and get some good crits on my future work. Maybe... Just maybe, I can get back on the path I should of taken all those years ago.

Sorry for the long story, I just felt the need to express it out loud. Most likely no one will read this anyway :)

TL;DR Hipster here.. Hello.

I've been floating around the interwebs for a while and finally decided to sign up here. I need some serious spit and polish on my skill sets and branding and career focus. That's it. No big. *cough cough*

I wanna be an art rock star. Or something.

So ... howdy!

Hello! I'm here because I'm looking to rub elbows with other creative people, encouraging and being encouraged in turn. I'm a freshly hatched illustrator, and really what I want is to just observe and converse and continue to learn. C: I like stories, things with too many limbs, and star charts.

I'm looking forward to learning from all of you!

Welp, here I am! I've heard about this place for maybe about a year, but only now have I finally decided to step into the circle. As for who I am - I'm Angela, a BFA-having 24-year-old with a passion for creatures and fantasy art of whatever media suits me at a given time and a whoooole crapload of learning to do. Seemed only prudent to join this big happy family of artist-types!

You can find my work on my website here.

Hi everyone!
I'm Mimee. I'm an art student currently residing in Canada. I found this community some time ago but I just decided to join. I figured it be a good way to keep me motivated to keep on painting no matter what. I'm looking forward to meeting you. :)

I guess I'll be setting up a sketchbook soon~!

Hi everyone,
my name's Martina and I'm a 22-year-old student of biology from the Czech Republic.
I've always enjoyed drawing, although I used to mostly sketch and draw just for fun without much thinking about improving myself. And when I discovered the internet art community starting with Deviant Art, I got a lot of inspiration and motivation to work harder. In 2010 I bought a tablet and started with digital art and with bigger and detailed pictures.
I mostly draw birds and fantasy stuff like dragons. I lack in other things like human anatomy or landscapes and I'd like to improve that and everything else as well. I'm self taught and because of that I'm looking for advises and critiques. And I'm sure I'll be able to learn a lot here so I'm looking forward to be a part of the community :)

Hey there!

I'm from Germany, currently studying Game Design. Before that I've studied Graphic Design in England for a year, but that just wasn't quite it. Most of my youth I've been tinkerin around in Photoshop, but not really..drawing or painting. I've only started drawing seriously around a year ago.
Been slacking too much with my personal goals drawing and working out..and now I find this community, you guys share work out goals and help each other out with art..is this for really real real reality?

Glad to be here!

Hi Guys

Very glad to have found this little corner of the web :) Caught a couple of Dave's streaming interviews awhile back but never realized there was a forum community too.
Great source of inspiration and knowledge those interviews were!

I've been working in advertising for a good few years but finally went back to my roots and started drawing again...around mid 2010... I have a passion for creating pretty much anything... writing, sculpting, woodwork, model building, painting & drawing but married life with two kids and a full time job did not leave too much time for all the fun stuff. I did however manage to find some time to take a few courses through TAD (which was awesome) and found a local group to do some life drawing sessions. Still learning everyday, doing studies and taking on small commissions when possible.

The idea has always been to be able to work full time as a creative and while a career in advertising has allowed that to some extent it is not exactly my end goal. It took me a long time to really understand exactly what it is I want to do with my life, but know that I know, I am completely focused in that direction.

Very eager to learn & share with others. Hopefully meet some cool folks and make some great connections.

Enjoy the weekend - I'm based just outside of LA and it is a beauty outside :D

Hi all

I'm Simon from Leicester UK. I found out about crimson daggers while looking into some of Dave's work, and really wanted to get involved with the community. I intend to start a sketchbook either later on today or tomorrow so it'd be great if people could check it out.

I do tend to get a little disheartened with my work on a fairly regular basis, and tend to give up quite easily. I'm hoping that posting work in these forums and hopefully taking part in a few of the challenges will help me to get past that and will give me the motivation to keep working.

Right, back to photoshop for a few hours I think.
