Hey my name is Henrik and i'm a 25 years old gamedesign and graphics student from sweden. Been drawing most part of my life but i've been ignorant, not learning the fundamentals of drawing properly. Something i sorely regrett now, i've always lacked patience = moving forward to quickly in my work. How ever i've decided to get back to he basics and learn anatomy, perspective, color, light etc properly. To keep me motivated i wanted a place where i could discuss, give and get feedback from fellow artists. A friend told me to get started here so here i am. Looking forward to it, not sure yet how the forum works but i'll get to it.
Hey everyone! :)
I've been painting and drawing traditionally (mostly drawing) for a few years now but you know.. Long slacking breaks and no motivation have blocked my journey. But now it's time to stop being a loser and reach my dreams. I'm totally unfamiliar with this forum (have read about it over at CA tho..) but this feels like the right place.
Oh .. and my name is Patrick, age 24, living in Sweden.
Hi! I'm not really good with introductions but I'll try my best.
I'm Hauteclaire. I've been drawing for two years (Really bad non-serious cartoony stuff) but got serious about it at the start of this one. So far my skills aren't that good, but I'm focusing and practicing as hard as I can to better myself and be able to call my work "art" someday. You will see that most of my work is grayscale because as this is my first year studying art, I wanna focus and learn and master how light works as much as I can before continuing into color (Sometimes I wonder if this is the right choise, but seems to be working so far).
I hope to learn a lot and meet some comrades here!
I've just realized how much my painting and drawing needs to improve (I only discovered skin tone hues yesterday so, yeah...) , and I've been meaning to join CD for quite some time...
Since the beggining of this year I got more serious about art, but my daily schedule doesn't allow me much free time...
BUT, my winter break officialy starts tomorrow (and last about 20 days), but ever since the 12 I'm trying to draw and paint everyday, almost all day long. And I hope to keep working like this ,but with help from this awesome community!
Let's do this!
Oh, by the way I'm from Brazil so excuse any faults with my english (I actually had to search some of the words here on google...).
Hey everyone, my real name is Josh Lockwood. I'm here to share my experience, to learn from others and to generally add to this awesome community.
I'm here because I believe in the idea that it takes a tribe to create something worthy of a wide audience...
But first a little backstory: I just left my studio job to pursue full-time freelance opportunities. That essentially means that it's time to start my 80's montage of sweaty, fevered, tablet-jockeying.
Hey folks. My name is Lance, I'm 32, living in beautiful Oregon USA, and I am ready to work my ass off! I've been drawing casually for most of my life, but just went full digital in March. That move to painting prompted me to scour the internet for lessons and tutorials. When I started listening to Dave and Dan I finally felt like someone was actually talking to me, not at me. They instilled in me two things 1) Devotion to fundamentals 2) Need for community. I'm here for heaping helpings of both.
Here are a couple of pieces to show where I'm at. I'm treating this site like an art dojo, so feel free to kick my ass and point out my weaknesses. I'm starting a study schedule tonight, and I'll be uploading to a CD sketchbook regularly. See you all on the forums!
Hey! Name's Manuel, 23, Italian (but spending more than half of the year in London).
To be honest, i come here since during this hot italian summer i felt so kinda alone digging my shiet : ) Until last night a good friend of mine sent me here and i felt this community was absolutely great. So here i am!
I also saw some interviews made by you guys on youtube, 1:20 hr of discussion with this german artist, simply awesome. Sounds like a serious creative social network!
I started studing Sculpture in Milan, then the past year I came to London to Middlesex University, Illustration. That was fun, until i ran out of money (9000£ fees per year), so i said myself "you can stay but let's gotta go".
I'm working for myself now, trying to build an interesting portfolio to submit when i go back to London in Sept/October. I wanna be paid.
Talking strictly about me, i'm a drummer, i love videogames, i feel very social and try my best to be open minded, even in the weirdiest situations. I desire so much to find people who love doing what they do (painting, living and stuff) and create a game or something pragmatic to work with.
I'm into history of art and Tutorials a LOT and my fav artist right now is Vincent Desiderio and a student of him Donato Giancola (magic the gathering painter).
Also Sergey Kolesov is one of the best of the best for me.
Hope you didn't get bored, time to sneak into every exiting thread. Cheers guys!
Hello you guys my name is Newtn (real name: Matthew) and I'm an amateur concept designer and illustrator :) This is such a great forum here. So I am happy to be here , have a nice day.
My name is Robert Buber. I am a young artist entering my junior year at the lovely College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Outside of college, I do all my work in isolation since that network is gone over the summer. I've been wanting to join an online creative community such as Crimson Daggers for a while, but my procrastination and Facebook make doing new things so hard. So now I've done it and I'm here. Hopefully, I can stay focused enough to show what I'm working on and see what you guys are up to. Fun times ahead in brand new lands!
I've always loved art, but didnt start seriously until a month ago. Since then I've adopted an intense schedule to make up for time lost. Ive been a follower for 2 weeks I quess.
Recently (2 days ago) I bought a tablet and went digital. Been loving every moment since then.
Ive added some recent images ive done as attachments. All of them are studies from a reference. First is made with pencil and paper. The other 2 are fresh digitals. The 2nd image is NOT a guy holding his dick, its a rope, but I kinda screwed up.
