I suck at introductions. |

Ummm.. I'm so bad at this.
I've seen some Crimson Conversations and Bloodsport videos and it pretty much got me interested in this community.
Currently I'm working in a small Norwegian indie studio as a concept artist.
Ehhhh.. I really don't know what to say. There isn't really a community artists around where I live, so working alone all the time makes me sometime feel that I'm stagnating. Fellow artist input is something I currently don't get too much of..
What I'm hoping to get out of joining CD is to get to know new people, be inspired, and possibly some input here and there. And of course improve as an artist! :)

Hi everybody! My name is Johan and I'm 23 years old. I've been drawing cartoons, comics and funny animals since I was a kid but I've never really paid any attention to art fundamentals.
Last year I decided to shape up and I've been keeping a sketchbook at CGHub and conceptart.org since October, but decided to leave CA and create a user account here instead. I didn't start one here right away because I thought I wasn't good enough. Which is really a stupid mindset.
I'm looking forward to be part of this community :)

Hi, guys. Thought I'd make a quick post to introduce myself.
This is difficult because I am a lurker by nature; I've never actively participated in an online forum before. But my goal is to try to improve with the help of other committed artists--I think that might be you guys. So here goes:
I work as a graphic designer/illustrator in the publishing industry (cheesy paranormal romance covers, anyone?) but I'd like to improve my draftmanship. And play with concept art a little bit. That's it! You game?

Here goes the obligatory introduction.
I'd like to state that unlike many people here, I'm a person who does art purely for non-professional exploits, ie - hobby. But unlike many people elsewhere, I treat it very seriously, because in my opinion, something being done for the sake of doing it shouldn't be of mediocre quality.
I'm a hobbyist devoted to constant improvement of my skill, and I've set the bar for myself of an industrial standard, so, by the recommendation of a good friend - and a professional at that - I've decided to seek out new ways of improvement through Crimson Daggers.
My main profession is IT and tech journalism, I'm a news reporter and a reviewer. I'm 27 years old, Russian, served in the army and was discharged in mid-00s. I'm big technology, science fiction and movie enthusiast.
In art I prefer concept character art, practical design and fine art. Also, I should confess, that I'm big on fanart for various sci-fi and horror settings and games.
I'd love to strengthen many of my weak points, such as environment conceptualization, usage of perspective and scene building.
Concerning Crimson Daggers, I'm mostly looking forward to challenges, a sketchbook establishment and working with a partner. Hope it works out - no, I'm sure it would.

Hellos to all,
Not quite sure what to say. I've been listening to the livestreams for some time but have never gotten around to joining the forum (mild case of "loner syndrome" here I guess). Truth is I fell off the "studies wagon" some time ago and I feel the need to light a fire under my ass and climb back on it. There's only one place that I know where folks will not only blow on the flames to make me climb faster but will do so with a grin. That place is the Crimson Daggers.
cheers,
aleks

Hi all! I'm Jess, I'm from Update New York. Right now, I work in marketing design (graphics and coding for promotional emails, mostly) I want to be in illustration or doing concept work.
I want to work on identifying my weak points and addressing them so my work improves, and commit to practicing daily. I'm hoping to get a good foundation for serious studies next year- maybe Gnomon Workshops, or Oatley Academy if I can get together a portfolio that will be accepted!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone- can't wait to dive into drawing/learning/sharing/(and hopefully) making some awesome art with all of you!

Hi folks. I'm Warren (prepsage from CA.org). I do graphic design for a living but I'd rather be drawing. I'm just trying to get better at the craft like most everyone else.

You will be seeing more and more of me! (Saying this creates added pressure for me to draw and post more often, and stay on the ball).
Anyways, I've been a spectator far too long with the daggers, more years than I care to mention. I'm sure many of you can relate to my story. Doing the bare minimum, letting the praise of family, friends, even art school teachers be enough, laziness and mediocrity winning the daily battles.
I'm 26 now, and it's very easy for me to be hard on myself for the time wasted, I catch myself saying "imagine how great I could have been if I started sooner!" Well, I seem to only learn from my mistakes, and it took everything I learned about myself getting to this point to realize how bad I want to improve my art, health, and life. (I feel cheesy and preachy saying some of this, but if that's the attitude I need to be more motivated, then oh well, its worth it.)
So many of you are doing such great things, and many of you are so young! I feel privileged to be among you.
Keep an eye out for my sketch book I will be starting it later tonight after some studying, I want it to be an inspiration for those who need it, just like many of you have inspired me.
Til next time, I leave you with a few finds that keep me going:
