I thought I would pop by.
I'm Troy, I'm a freelance designer and illustrator and I work between LA and SF.
I'm having some academic and career issues that very well may relate to a lack of skill at this point. So without further ado, I'll start posting here as well to see if I can get real feedback rather than "I'm surprised you can't find a job".
Hopefully I can contribute to return the favor.

I was following Dave Rapoza and his Youtube tutorials since I started painting digitally in 2010 (drawing with traditional media my whole life), after a while I realize that he has the Crimson Daggers forum with Dan Warren and Dave and I enjoyed very much the Bloodsports the Critters and the Interviews (your work with this community guys are awesome)...but I didnt dare to enter the community, until now...
I hope to be up to the next challenge and improve, focus and meet new artists in the process.
Good luck to everyone!

I'm Ros Kovac, some of you might have seen me around on FB... or CGHub, dA or CGSociety...
A bit about me, I received fine arts education after high school, which served to nothing (okay, I learned basic drawing and talking bullshit like a pro). I've been doing freelance work for almost 2 years now (out of hunger not passion), and not long ago I decided to dedicate to more industry oriented projects. The change has been reaaally weird for me; I have many things to learn, so many things to improve, and in the process I've finally gotten in love with this.
I've been doing digital art for longer than that (since 2008), but I never got really involved with any art community to be honest, I'm generally oblivious and I was always like "ain't nobody got time fo dat", but I've been seeing all the amazing work you guys are doing, and I would love to be part of this.

Hello there!
My name is Nick, and for the past year I've been living in a cave.
Before that I was a 3D character artist with the desire of one day becoming a concept artist, impatience got the better of me and I packed it all up to focus purely on concept art.
The isolated life hasn't really done me any favours, sometimes I would take part in various forum challenges, however procrastination has kicked in and now I'm floating around the net, not doing enough work, so I figured it's time to step it up and get more involved with the community.
Look forward to conversing with all you folks out there.

Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Joseph. And I learn how to improve my art and eventually become a working illustrator.
I work traditionally, mainly in pencil. My motivation is to learn who to render imagery clearly, with a mind to illustrate my own stories. (Illustrated prose)
I look forward to receiving your critiques, advice and suggestion.
Thank you for creating this forum and thanks to Brad Rigney for bring this forum to my attention.

Hello Everybody,
About a year ago, maybe a little more I befriended Brent Hollowell on Facebook and noted his remarkable productivity. After a little while I also noticed he was improving significantly and I started to pay more attention to the Livestreams and things he shared. Eventually I found out about this little corner of the internet through some link he posted. I used to be moderately active on CA.org but got kinda burnt out on it and the community there and have been more or less forum-silent for a few years. I figure now's as good a time as any to leave my virtual hermit shack and step back into the stream.
About Moi: I just turned 34 (Feb 28th) and am currently working as an artist at Harmonix in Cambridge. Mostly I do environment stuff, but they're pretty fluid with titles/responsibilities around here so I get to do a bit of everything. (I'm doing some effects work right now! :P) Previously I worked at 38 Studios as a Principal Environment Artist which was the greatest place I've ever worked, and with some of the most insanely talented artists I've ever worked with.
Aaaaanyway, I've been feeling lately that it's been a while since I really felt or noticed any kind of improvement in my work. In fact things have been feeling pretty stale. After 38 Studios imploded I had a bit of depression and lost a lot of momentum as well as confidence in my work and it seemed to be the worst with my painting. I've managed to shake that and get back some of the confidence I had, but doing so has also made me aware that I hadn't been actively seeking improvement for a little while. Mostly because the people that I worked with were a constant source of inspiration of great critique. I even got to have some concepts I painted and levels I was principal on critiqued by Todd McFarlaine! So I'm looking to take hold of the reins again and drag myself up to whatever awaits. Looking forward to being involved with this community!
